The latest mega-sized special issue of Sole Collector hits newstands next week with 90 glorious pages dedicated to the history of the Air Jordan, laid out by yours truly. Pretty cool gig, and pretty cool people to be able to pull it off with. Thanks to Zac, Steve, Nicole and the whole gang @ SC for having me aboard. My brother, Lee, launched a blog this week dedicated to his craft of shooting & production, which in last weekend's case involved this:

All Messed Up But Nowhere To Go
As this blog de-evolves into a "things I held so dear when I was an indie teen weirdo that Youtube has delivered me back into the arms of" showcase, I'd be remiss to not post an Afghan Whigs video.
I decided I really like this video. Probably if for no other reason it's really making people mad and confused. I know hip hoppers are throwing themselves out windows over it in befuddlement, but Spike Jonze has been WTFing the shit out of people for like 2 decades now (as evidenced here as well) and now more than ever the medium could use a little of that anyhow.
And in the interest of balancing out the "words to pictures" ratio; here's a photo of Kanye, just because it has lasers in it.

For Valentine's Day I give you a NERD poster.
I made it myself.
Also, Because any reason to slap the word "NERD" on a big sheet of paper is a great one.

why forgetting about cool stuff makes life worth living.
Because you get to re-discover things like "The Octagonycolegyst" (sp?) all over again. And marvel at the mind-blowing, kind of x-rated, kind of sci-fi, all around wild nuts adventures Dr. Octagon spits. (And it has kick-ass pushead art!)
Seriously, I try very hard to not turn this blog into an "I LIKE THIS AND YOU SHOULD TOO-fest", but for the love of god if you are not into this guy and shit like halfsharkalligatorhalfmen wake up and smell the awesome. You don't have to be into any kind of music, just the urge to have your mind blown HARD.
In other news I have been busier than a belt in a Wesley Willis puma-whooping contest. Did mixtape art for Mick Boogie & Benzi's party jam "Motivation", check it out on URB's site. Wrapped up doing a special edition of Sole Collector that should hit the streets within weeks. Some mixtapes for Steph Floss, album packagaing in the works for the metalheads, some apparel designs for lots of kinds of heads.
Season 4 of LOST starts tomorrow, warp 10 geek boners engage. Thanks J.J. Abrams, I haven't geeked out on anything for a good decade and you've brought that streak to a screeching polar-bear infested halt.
Rest in Peace Wesley.

Gav

And he paid me! A notion a the time that blew my mind, and to this day still kinda does. Guys like this in my still somewhat young career I'm real thankful for, and while my professional path has not quite led to animation, his insights and ability to draw cute and cuddly aliens and animals still stick with me. So thanks internet, for leading me back to Gav. He's a real nice, talented guy and now runs a studio called Horrendous Fiasco. Get to know him! Thanks Gav.
